Today was the final day of Star Cup 4 organised by Star Cricket Youth Club.

Final match was between JN – XI and Spartans. JN – XI won the toss and elected to bat. They scored a total of 136 runs in 20 overs at a loss of 8 wickets. Atul Singh scored the highest in the team. He scored 46 runs in 37 balls with the help of 5 fours. Fatha Rana scored 39 runs in 33 balls (4 fours). Vivek Yadav, the star bowler from Spartans, continued his wicket taking streak and took 4 wickets in 4 overs and gave just 23 runs.

While chasing, Spartans had a target of 137 runs. Vineet Saxena, famed Ranji player scored 68 runs in 53 balls with the help of 7 fours and 1 six. JN – XI did not perform well in the field and were able to take only 1 wicket. Spartans won the Star Cup 4 by 9 wickets. Vivek Yadav was declared the Man of the Match.

After the final match, a closing ceremony was organised to honour the players and the spirit of cricket. Many dignitaries were present for the ceremony. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. Anant Vyas who is a reputed management guru known throughout the cricket world and the Guest of Honour was the organising secretary of JDCA, Mr. Saleem Khan. Mr. Mithilesh Sharma, Mr. M.P Yadav and Mr. Somendra Harsh were also present among the invited dignitaries. The winning team i.e. Spartans was awarded a cash prize of INR 51,000; while the runner up team i.e. JN – XI was awarded a cash prize of INR 31,000.
