Today was the 10th day of Star Cup 4 organised by Star Cricket Youth Club.

Star Cricket Youth Club invited and honoured the kids from Bhavani Child Development Center. It is a not-for-profit charitable trust which nurtures and caters to the academic and vocational skills of children with learning disability. SCYC believes that everyone should have a fair chance at the game of cricket. Everyone is an equal in the field and can learn and develop a healthy approach while playing cricket. SCYC honoured and initiated the children into the game by gifting them small mementos and organizing a small parade. The overall experience was quite memorable.

First match of the day was between Jaipur Lions and Kites – XI. Jaipur Lions won the toss and elected to bat. Jaipur Lions scored a total of 174 runs and were all out in 19.3 overs. Namanraj Sinha scored a blazing 71 runs in just 33 balls with the help of 3 fours and 2 sixes. Bhanwar Singh from Kites – XI bowled really well as he gave just 15 runs in 3 overs and took 3 crucial wickets.

While chasing, Kites – XI had a target of 175 runs which they were unable to achieve. They scored a total of 124 runs in 20 overs at a loss of 9 wickets. Pankaj Kumar scored 42 runs out of 34 balls with the help of 4 fours and 1 six. Jaipur Lions had a good bowling day as well. Dhanraj Yadav, Manish Meena and Vinay Pratap of Jaipur Lions took 2 wickets each. Jaipur Lions won the match by 50 runs and Namanraj Sinha was declared the Man of the Match for his excellent batting. Bhanwar Singh of Kites – XI was given the Golden Ball Award for taking 3 crucial wickets. Second Match of the day was between Powerhouse Gym and The Phone Support. Powerhouse Gym won the toss and elected to bat. As per their usual performance, they played below average. They scored a total of 77 runs and were all out in just 14 overs. Adarsh Sharma scored the highest runs in the team which was 26 runs in 14 balls with the help of 3 fours and 2 sixes. Aftabuddin of The Phone Support bowled brilliantly took 3 important wickets in 4 overs and gave 16 runs.

While chasing, The Phone Support had a target of just 78 runs won the match in 18.4 overs and at a loss of 5 wickets only. Chandra Pratap Singh scored 28 runs in 36 balls (2 fours). Powerhouse Gym did not have a good bowling day as well. Garvit Agarwal took 2 wickets in 4 overs and gave 19 runs. The Phone Support displayed due to their excellent bowling order won the match by 5 wickets and defeated one of the strongest team in this tournament. Aftabuddin was awarded the Man of the Match and was given The Golden Ball Award for excellent bowling. This is the end of the league and from tomorrow onwards the knock out rounds are beginning.
